North Bayfront Beaches Balboa Island

Newport Beach Beaches: North Bayfront beaches on Balboa Island in Newport Beach are closest to the bridge coming onto the island on Marine Avenue. These beaches are quite similar to the beaches on the opposite of the island that faces the Balboa Pavilion and Pacific Ocean. The island is only a few blocks wide at most points, so you can access either set of beaches within 5 minutes. The waters are calm and the views overlook a bay with condos and homes on the other side as you look north from the little beaches that are a few yards in depth.

The popularity of these beaches is directly related to the beach rental homes that overlook them. Families come from around the world to stay in Newport Beach and enjoy the Balboa Island, known for its old-fashioned downtown, restaurants, shopping and fantastic location in Southern California just a few miles from Orange County Airport. These beaches are beneath the flight path for many jets coming into and out of John Wayne - OC Airport, so the noise factor can be noticeable at times.
