Porchfest is a musical jam taking place with bands appearing at people's front yards and porches throughout Modesto. The annual event which has also been held in California cities such as Napa encourages spectators to stroll or drive around and hear the sounds of great music.

If anyone tells you there's nothing going on in Modesto music-wise, don't believe them. An incredible lineup of bands and free entertainment to rock you through the summer, Modesto's Music in the Plaza is held at 10th Street Plaza on Friday nights late April through early October. The music is diverse, ranging from rock and decades to country, hip-hop and bluegrass. It's free and that's what really counts!

The highlight of the summer for so many people, the Moband's 107th annual concert series returns for six weeks with their evening concerts in the park. The public is invited to this free event. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating and enjoy this gift of music. The band members all volunteer their time and the group gladly accepts donations, saying that it costs around $30,000 to produce the annual concerts in the park - check out their website - moband.org
