Apple Harvest Festival

First Saturday in October, October 4, 2025, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Enjoy the fruits of the fall harvest all over town:

  • Downtown Street Fair 9th-14th Streets, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Clendenen's Cider Works, 96 12th Street, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Apple and cider tasting, apple dumplings, narrated hayride orchard tour, food truck, Scotia Band performs, retail store sells apples, baked goods, cider and more!
  • Rohner Park 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Live Pumpkin Carving, Speeder Car Rides, Inflatable Maze, Teafairy, Face Painting, Craft Vendors, Food for Sale by Restaurants & Caterers; Concert by Erie Rockerz 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Come to the old fashion street fair in Downtown Fortuna during the Apple Harvest Festival. Check out the crafts and artesian booths including jewelry, woodworks, plants, wind chimes, clothing at the Downtown Street Fair. Local Downtown Merchants will be open with some offering Apple Harvest specials, discounts, sales, and apple food items on their menu. And of course, come to town and enjoy cider and produce and more at Clendenen’s.

The festival is a city-wide historical celebration and family fun day that includes an old fashioned downtown fair, farmer’s market, barbecues, live music, and lots of children’s activities.

From last year: On Sunday, the Timber Heritage Association will run railroad speeder car rides from Clendenen's Cider Works to 8th Street and back. Free hayride transportation allows you and your family to be carried from one venue to the next while enjoying the wonderful October weather in Fortuna.

 

Art and Wine in the Park 2nd Sunday in June

Art and Wine in the Park is a perfect start to summer in the heart of Fortuna at Rohner Park. The event features hundreds of wines to taste from local and regional vintners and a fine arts area and crafts market to browse and shop.

Daffodil Festival - 4th Weekend in March
Springtime in Humboldt County means daffodils. The Fortuna Garden Club's 33rd Annual Daffodil Show features more than 600 stems of the sunny flowers on display. This is one of three major daffodil shows in the state, drawing amateur growers and propagators from California and Oregon. kineticgrandchampionship.com

Kinetic Sculpture Race Memorial Day.

Better known as the Great Arcata to Ferndale World Championship Kinetic Sculpture Race, the event matches human powered engineering and art all wrapped up in imaginative racing machines, including a 93-foot King fish, a 3 wheeled evening slipper, a yellow submarine and other creative entries.

Fortuna Rodeo - 3rd Full Weekend in July

More than 85 years in the running, the Fortuna Rodeo itself culminates a week of fun and games for the family. Beginning on Friday with family night and continuing with Saturday's parade, fun and action inside the arena and out is capped with a Cowboy Mixer and Dance. Sunday brings more broncos, bulls, barbecues, and barrels.

Hops in Humboldt 4th Saturday in August

Beer! More than 25 microbreweries converge in Rohner Park for beer tasting at the Hops in Humboldt event. The charity event also features an eclectic music line-up, a crafts area, beer games, and a people's choice award.

AutoXpo 4th Full Weekend in July Redwood

Antique cars and hot rods, antique tractors, and farm equipment are all highlights of the Redwood AutoXpo. Don't miss the cruise in Fortuna Friday night, followed by a sock-hop. Stay all weekend and catch the burnout contest Sunday afternoon.

Al Gray Memorial Electric Lighted Parade

Bundle up and watch the big rigs, floats, and other vehicles decked out in festive lights. The parade leaves Redwood Village Shopping Center at 6:30 pm PST and travels through town to downtown Fortuna. Entries are displayed from 9th to 12th St.

Fortuna features wonderful climate and a beautiful setting next to the banks of the Eel River, lined by giant redwood trees. There's never a bad time to be in Fortuna celebrating, but there are some optimum times to drop by for spectacular community hospitality and events.
