Calistoga Memorial Day Ceremony

Calistoga Parks Recreation, with support from the American Legion, invites you to a Memorial Day Ceremony honoring those who gave their lives in service. The program includes recognition of new memorial brick names, acknowledgment of all those honored, and light refreshments.

On Memorial Day the Legion usually holds two annual Memorial Day events that include  the traditional Civil War reading of the roll of the honored dead at Pioneer Cemetery. It usually begins at 9:30 a.m. American Legion hosts an annual ceremony at Pioneer Cemetery honoring the Civil War veterans buried there. 

 The American Legion will lay  new honoree bricks at the Veterans Memorial. Honorees and/or their families can observe or lay the bricks themselves. The public is invited.  Following the cemetery ceremony, the traditional ceremony at the Veterans Memorial will include music, new brick honorees and various remarks. Start time is 11 a.m.
