Kenote speakers and moving music never disappoint in this annual event to honor Coronado service members and others who have served our nation. The Memorial Day ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. and last about an hour. 

Following the event at Star Park, attendees are invited to attend VFW Post 2422 for light refreshments at their headquarters at 557 Orange Avenue. Additional sponsors include United States Navy League, Coronado City Council and the Military Officers’ Association of America (Silver Strand Chapter).

Post 2422 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the event sponsor and organizer, was founded in 1932. Memorial Day services have taken place in Coronado since the 1930s. Memorial Day ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. and last about an hour. Seniors or disabled are advised to arrive early to take advantage of the limited seating available. Parking is available on adjacent streets to Star Park.

Coronado VFW Post 2422 hosts this annual event in conjunction with the Coronado Council of United States Navy League, the Silver Strand Chapter of Military Officers' Association of America, and the Coronado Detachment of Marine Corps League.
