The Train Driver Popular Play in L.A.

The Fountain Theatre extends its U.S. premiere of The Train Driver by Athol Fugard through January 30

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Train Driver, “The most important play I’ve ever written,” stars Morlan Higgins as a traumatized train driver tormented by a nightmare that has shattered his life – until he is awakened by an extraordinary stranger, portrayed by Adolphus Ward.

Performances of The Train Driver continue on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm through January 30. Tickets are $25 on Thursdays and Fridays and $30 on Saturdays and Sundays. On Thursdays and Fridays only, students with ID are $18.00 and seniors over 62 are $23.00. The Fountain Theatre is located at 5060 Fountain Avenue (at Normandie) in Los Angeles. Secure, on-site parking is available for $5.00. 51st ANNUAL L.A. COUNTY HOLIDAY CELEBRATION has updated its performance list from our previous events post.

The annual event aty Dorothy Chandler Pavilion includes an amazing, full day of concerts, acts and entertainment to the day before Christmas. For many, attendance at this free event is a holiday tradition.

County Holiday Celebration unfolds on December 24. The three-hour extravaganza, performed at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center, is free! The L.A. County Holiday Celebration is a gift to the community from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Sponsored by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and produced by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission on Friday, December 24, 2010 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.   • Wristbands required for entry. Wristbands available on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 11:30 a.m. on December 24 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center
  • Limit: one wristband per person.
  • Once wristband is obtained, attendees do not have to wait in line. When all wristbands have been distributed, standbys will be tracked in order of arrival and admitted if seats are vacated. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Scary Movie, Body Snatcher at LA’s Haunted Heritage Square Oct. 23, 2010

You are invited to bring a picnic, blankets & chairs, and watch the classic scary movie, Body Snatcher, outdoors. A 1945 horror classic starring Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi involves a ruthless doctor and his young prize student finding themselves continually harassed by their murderous supplier of illegal cadavers. Considered one of Boris Karloff’s best performances, the film is based on a classic 1884 short story by Robert Louis Stevenson. The fourth annual Halloween and Mourning Movie Night costs $10 for the general public. The gates will open at 7 p.m. for picnics with the show starting at dusk.
