California Missions with Animals – La Purisima in Lompoc

If you travel the coastal road,  El Camino Real (Highway 101) this summer , you’ll pass by a number of missions. They are all beautiful to see and each mission offers its own stories and unique opportunities to explore. Of 21 missions, there’s only one I can recall that has animals on the grounds.  La Purisima Mission on the Central Coast ranks as one of the most authentically restored missions and provides the spiritual experience where history speaks.  You aren’t imagining! The mission offers an active living history program. You can drop by any time the mission is open, or plan for special events and stay at nearby Lompoc, or further away at Solvang, Buellton or Santa Maria.
