If you’re looking for a patriotic way to celebrate veterans parades are one of California’s favorites. Fresno hosts the largest Veterans Day Parade on the West Coast. Held on November 11, the event features marching bands performing military tribute songs, scout troops carrying a huge flag, classic cars, decorated war veterans, and in 2014 US Coast Guard is honored as Grand Marshal. Now in its 95th of year, the Fresno Veterans Day Parade (fresnovdp.org) starts at City Hall at 11 a.m. following a half hour opening ceremony.
