Have you seen promotional information for Small Business Saturday on November 28, 2015? Created, sponsored & promoted by American Express since 2010, the credit company once offered customers $25 credit if you spent $25 at a small business using an AmEx card. American Express, ranked #90 on the Fortune 500 list with revenue just under $36 billion and operating income close to $9 billion, appears to have pulled back on the offers while continuing to enjoy event branding and traffic to their website for this promo they invented five years ago. Business improvement districts, shopping malls and stores in California have adopted Shop Small promotional materials such as canvas bags to promote their Small Business Saturday events. Most the action, of course, will be at the largest stores with Black Friday sales and online offers.
