Hot Festival Entertainment for Dads and Others this Weekend in California

This Father’s Day weekend there are festival celebrations of lavender, beaches, bluegrass and birds. Certainly the most unique gathering–not an ordinary Concours car show–takes places in Colfax.

  • COLFAX –  Fire & Steel Festival  on June 15, 2013.   You’re not going to get burned, but you are guaranteed a smokin’ hot time at the weekend Colfax festival, Fire & Steel. A combo of fire shows, incredbile art cars, street parties and rockin’ bands are on the front burner for Father’s Day Weekend.   The 3rd annual event less than 1 hour northeast of Sacramento on Highway 80 includes Art Car and Burner Costume Parade with  a gant school bus converted DRAGON cruising Main Street while blowing fire balls
  • EL SEGUNDOFree classic car rides for dad (and family) at the Automobile Driving Museum.
  • SAN FRANCISCO  – North Beach Festival. Wild in the streets and having fun.
  • TORRANCE –  The Flying Greek, TALK. Double Ace Col. Steve Pisanos was shot down in France, but not before earning his Ace status. Pisanos evaded the German forces for six months while helping the French resistance during WWII. Eligible for execution as a spy if re-captured by the Germans, the U.S. brought him to America to become a test pilot. Public is invited to the exciting talk, $5 at Western Museum of Flight wmof.com
  • YOUNTVILLE – 23rd Annual Father’s Day Invitational Auto Show,  Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In addition to more than 100 early and late model cars spanning a century of production such as — a 1928 Model A Phaeton, 57 Chevy and a Porsche Turbo– you can shop, dine, taste wine, and ride hot air balloons.
