Don’t go nuts if you missed Chico’s California Nut Festival in mid-April. There are more opportunities to celebrate California’s 2nd most profitable crop. This weekend there are two nut festivals taking place in the Central Valley cities of Hughson and Kerman. Although Kern County’s Nut Festival which usually happens around this time has gone on hiatus in 2016, other great events are a welcomed sight! Here’s the scoop on California nut festivals:
KERMAN: Kerman 2nd Annual Almond Festival and Fun Run April30, 2016
Location: 15 miles west of Fresno in the San Joaquin Valley

HUGHSON: Hughson Fruit and Nut Festival April 31-May 1, 2016
Location: Part of the Modesto Metro area in Stanislaus County
Cost: Free to attend
Highlights: Historic Hughson Fruit and Nut Festival has been revived as a success story for Downtown.
