At the corner of Main and Arcadia streets, just off the Plaza, the Pico House was once the luxury hotel built by Pío Pico, the last Mexican governor of California. Born at the San Gabriel Mission, Pico became wealthy as a successful entrepreneur. But sadly, in his last remaining years the former governor was penniless.

Celebrate the incredible heritage of Los Angeles by visiting its iconic landmarks, the Pico House and Olvera Street, while listening to stories, seeing displays, and participating in fun events and games.  An amazing list of museum participants, guest lecturers, and special events come together in one place for Los Angeles Heritage Day, April 14, 2013, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Here’s more info!
