California Travel Tips

Mountains, Beaches, Deserts, Redwoods All in One California Trip!

Published on: July 04, 2012

Californians tend to break their vacations up, feeling the luxury of access to the nation’s great natural assets is always within reach. But vacationers from Europe, especially, like to see it all a single vacation. Now that’s a feat! But it isn’t really hard to do with proper planning and stick-to-it determination to stay on schedule.

Within one state that spans over 1,000 miles in length and several hundred miles width, the diversity is amazing and could be considered a world unto itself. If you’re up to the challenge, go see the state’s great assets in a single trip. You’re going to need about a week to 10 days to do it…that’s how the Brits, Italians, French and Germans do it, anyway.

See California Natural Wonders:

  • DAY 1 & 2 – Land at LAX and hit the beaches just five minutes from the airport. You fly over them during landing, in some cases.
  • DAY 3 – Next head for the California desert, approx. two to three hours from the beach. You can see Joshua Tree State Park and take in Palm Desert lifestyle. It combines urban with barren.
  • DAY 4 – Next, head for Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park where you can take in the giant redwoods, the world’s biggest trees. The drive is approx. 7 hours from Palm Springs.
  • DAY 5 – End your tour at Yosemite National Park, home to spectacular waterfalls and famed Half Dome. The drive between Sequoia Kings Canyon and Yosemite is between four and five hours.
  • DAY 6 & 7 – Head back to the L.A. at your leisure.
