There are some great festivals (such as San Diego’s US Sand Sculpting Challenge) on Labor Day Weekend that are worth a look. Here’s our full list
- CAPITOLA: Begonia Festival includes an aquatic parade of begonia-decorated floats Sept. 4-7
- COUNTY FAIR: Mariposa, Monterey, McArthur,
- FORT BRAGG: Paul Bunyan Days Sep. 5-7 is a full weekend of games, food, music and a parade
- GREEK: Eat Greek in Sacramento, Long Beach, Belmont, Monterey on Labor Day Weekend
- HERMOSA BEACH: Fiesta Hermosa Outdoor Art Fair and Festival Sept. 5-7
- OLYMPIC VALLEY: Alpen Wine Fest Sept. 6
- ORANGE: International Street Fair Sept. 4-6
- PLEASANTON: Scottish Highland Gathering Sept. 5-6
- SACRAMENTO: Gold Rush Days Sept. 4-6
- SAN DIEGO: One of the best beach fests is the U.S. National Sand Sculpting Challenge Sept. 4-7, 2015
- SAN DIEGO: Festival of Sail Sept. 5-7 includes fabulous ships and ride opportunities
