California Travel Tips

Things to See

California is filled with attractions, events, and millions of things to see & do. From art and architecture to quirky, wacky, funny and fun, you can go to a variety of museums, participate, and play. Some things are absolutely free, some charge a fee, and some you can buy.

We named our website, “SEE CALIFORNIA” because we’re devoted to the visual arts and visual side of life. The visually impaired need not be excluded from this approach, because we attempt to provide descriptions of even our photographs and great pictures posted on the site. Probably the best thing about being in California as a resident or visitor is the visual display. Many say they miss the lush colors of autumn on the East Coast. California actually has its own stunning displays of color in its Sierra Nevada mountains.

Have you ever seen the biggest tree in the world, or the tallest tree? California has them! Have you ever seen the Pacific Ocean waves at Mavericks Big Wave contest each spring? They are huge and the surfers can get killed riding them. Have you ever looked up at the Half Dome (immortalized by Ansel Adams) at Yosemite National Park, seen desert cacti in bloom in the spring, stood at the courthouse observation deck in Santa Barbarba and gazed to the Channel Islands, walked into a Gold Country hotel where ghosts are said to reside, and looked through the imported glass wall at Monterey Bay Aquarium to watch the entire ocean before your eyes? It is stunning!

California provides millions of images, icons (such as Hollywood actors & actresses living their everyday lives,) classic cars, and diverse geography that ranges from sheer cliffs along Highway 1 at Big Sur, to flat and expansive sand beaches in L.A., or mountain ski slopes overlooking blue lakes at Lake Tahoe. Seeing California is believing that it really is something and some place special. Please come visit and see it through our eyes and photographer’s lens at SeeCalifornia.com!
