Don’t we do that anyway? Yes, most people eat out. But this month is different. It’s sinfully fattening, fulfilling and financially rewarding. Each year restaurants throughout the state in more than 30 destinations feature special sample plates, fixed menus and prices around $10 – 50 per person. You can try something new at places you normally might not be able to afford. The state’s world-renowned wine and food take center stage throughout January during California Restaurant Month. California has more than 3,600 wineries and 400 specialty agricultural crops, making it the Food Capitol of the World. Bon appetit!

PARTICIPATING CITIES INCLUDE:

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK January 9-31, 2013 Chef’s Holiday yosemitepark.com
VACAVILLE January 18 – 27, 2013 Restaurant Week visitvacaville.com
MENDOCINO Jan 18-27, 2013 Crab, Wine & Beer Fest mendocinocoastclinics.org
SAN DIEGO January 13 – 18, 2013 Restaurant Week sandiegorestaurantweek.com
LAGUNA BEACH March 7-10, 2013 Laguna Beach a la Carte lagunabeachinfo.com
OAKLAND Jan. 18-27, 2013 Oakland Restaurant Week oaklandrestaurantweek.org.
BEVERLY HILLS Jan. 7-13, 2013 Dine Around the World LoveBeverlyHills.com
OXNARD Jan 21-31, 2013 International Restaurant Week visitoxnard.com
IRVINE Jan 11- 17, 2013 Irvine Restaurant Week destinationirvine.com
SAN FRANCISCO Dine About Jan. 15-31, 2013 sanfrancisco.travel
TRI-VALLEY – DUBLIN January 7 – 13, 2013 trivalleycvb.com
LIVERMORE : January 14 – 20, 2013
PLEASANTON : January 21-27, 2013
SAN RAMON : January 28 – February 3, 2013
SANTA BARBARA Jan 24-Feb 3, 2013 Film Feast santabarbaraca.com
EL DORADO COUNTY Jan. 20-27, 2013 visiteldorado.com
LOS ANGELES January 21 – February 1, 2013 Restaurant Week discoverlosangeles.com
LONG BEACH Jan. 21-27, 2013 Downtown Long Beach Cheese Week downtownlongbeach.org
TEMECULA January 2013 Temecula Valley Restaurant Month restaurantmonth.org
WEST HOLLYWOOD January 21-February 1, 2013 Dine LA Restaurant Week visitwesthollywood.com
NAPA VALLEY January 2013 Napa Valley Restaurant Month visitnapavalley.com

If you’ve already ditched your New Year’s resolution to drop a few pounds, you’re in luck! In addition to the upcoming Chocolate Festivals, California Restaurant Month in January is an annual event to get dieters and all others to eat out.
