Several of its largest events each year include the California Strawberry Festival and the Oxnard Salsa Festival. When visiting, you can&#8217;t help but notice the expansive farms that produce strawberries, vegetables, flowers and a variety of marketable crops. \u00a0 It is far enough away from L.A. (approx. 1 hour by car) to feel like you&#8217;ve left the big city for more relaxing environs, yet there&#8217;s still plenty to see and do, such as taking a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/traveltips\/see-the-islands-in-california-but-which-one\/\">trip to the Channel Islands<\/a>. When visiting there are fantastic museums (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/cars\/oxnard-mullin-automotive-museum.html\">Mullin Automobile Museum<\/a> &amp; Murphys Automotive Museum) to see, a farmer&#8217;s market and an entire historic district of early 19th century homes.
