Ghosts are everywhere! \u00a0 While you may bump into something and let out a screech, the majority of &#8220;ghosts&#8221; are fascinating artifacts not to be feared.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Calico Ghost Town (calicotown.com) hosts SLEEPY HOLLOW, an annual ghost-themed Halloween event. This year the dates are October 18-20 &amp; 25-27, 2013. The event includes the Headless Horseman, Haunted Mazes &#8211; Hideaway &amp; Fear Shack, Saturday Night Ghost Walks, Monster Mash Dance, Costume Contest and more. Cost: $10-15. Location: Near Barstow<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SEE GHOSTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/traveltips\/california-ghost-town-deja-vu-sounds-of-the-gold-rush\/\">Ghost Towns<\/a> \u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; There are many towns and gold mines that have been abandoned in California. \u00a0In fact, there are several hundred ghost towns hanging around. The best known include Bodie Ghost Town State Historic Park,\u00a0Calico Ghost Town near Yermo, Knott&#8217;s Ghost Town in Buena Park,\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0Manzanar in Inyo County.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/culture\/ghosts-california-coast.html\"><strong>Ghost Tree<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Along the drive of twisted oaks and gnarled Monterey pines along 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach a point of interest called the Ghost Tree.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/hotels\/haunted-hotels.html \"><strong>Ghost Ship<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; It would be easy enough to dismiss the tales of those who swear the Queen Mary in Long Beach is haunted. It&#8217;s a fact that many have died on the ocean-liner, which was used to transport soldiers during the end of \u00a0WWII. But it IS called the Ghost Ship for a reason.
