She&#8217;s currently known as Elka Ostrovsky in TV Land&#8217;s <em>Hot in Cleveland<\/em>, but also brings smiles in re-broadcasts in which she played Rose Nylund on<em> The Golden Girls<\/em> (1985-2000) and Sue Ann Nivens on <em>The Mary Tyler Moore Show<\/em> (1973-1985.)\u00a0 The 91-year young actress has been nominated for and has won well over 50 acting awards, has a Walk of Fame star, and always draws a crowd wherever she goes. But aside from the glitz &amp; glam, the Illinois-born girl likes helping animals when she can. It&#8217;s fair to say that animals like Betty White, too.
