San Clemente<\/a> (in Orange County near the border of\u00a0San Diego County) features old world charm depicted in murals throughout town.\u00a0Although this beach city has no official city art\u00a0program policy, there is an abundance of public art.\u00a0Murals throughout San Clemente are colorful recreations of beautiful, local scenes ranging from this historic building to the San Clemente Pier, the city’s most beloved icon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The mural paying homage to Casino San Clemente re-creates the landmark which was built in 1937 and modeled after the Casino on Catalina Island<\/a>. The mainland “casino”\u00a0hosted celebrities Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Cesar Romero and Dorothy Lamour who all came to enjoy the big band sounds and live radio broadcasts in days gone by.<\/p>\n
