You can get the manmade stuff at ski resorts throughout the state, but that&#8217;s hardly enough to satisfy most ski lovers&#8217; desires. \u00a0 So?<\/p>\n<p>On Friday\u00a0Gov. Jerry Brown declared a drought emergency and asked the people to cut their water use by 20%. \u00a0That&#8217;s the amount of rain and snow we&#8217;ve gotten compared to a normal season&#8211;about 20% in most place. \u00a0Brown\u00a0has united DWR and other agencies in an Interagency Drought Task Force, which\u00a0will streamline transfers of water from areas of relative abundance to areas of critical\u00a0need, monitor water supply impacts in small rural communities whose groundwater sources are stressed by prolonged dry conditions, and take other steps to mitigate the effects of dry weather.<\/p>\n<p>Some water amounts: \u00a0O<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">ne of California\u2019s wettest spots with an average annual rainfall of nearly 100 inches, Gasquet \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Ranger Station in Del Norte County ended the year with only 43.46 inches; Sacramento\u00a0<\/span>5.74 inches (18&#8243; average); \u00a0and downtown Los Angeles<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">3.4 inches (<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">14.74&#8243; average). <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/weather\/rain-snow.html\">Here are some state averages of rain &amp; snow<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) snow surveyors conducted winter&#8217;s first snow survey at Phillips Station near Echo Summit this January 2014,\u00a0they found more bare ground than snow.\u00a0Manual and electronic readings recorded the snowpack \u00a0statewide water content at about 20% of average for this\u00a0time of year.
