Kotsch came to California from Canada in 1976 after seeing brochures and deciding it looked like a wonderful place to be. She settled in Orange County where she felt a surf museum was needed to honor the local heritage that was disappearing building by building.\u00a0Kotsch founded Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum in 1987.
