Nowruz means &#8216;new day&#8217;.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>In\u00a0Berkeley <\/strong>one of the longest-running, most popular events in California (shown in photos) takes place\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/berkeley-persian-festival.html\">at the Persian Center<\/a>. The public is invited to share in the tradition and warm hospitality on March 18, 2014.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In Los Angeles<\/strong> the Farhang Foundation hosts Nowruz (Iranian New Year) Celebration at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on March 23, 2014. The event includes a traditional Iranian Costume Parade. Most events are free and open to the public, while a festival presentation inside the theater costs $15. See lacma.org<\/li>\n<li><strong>In San Jose<\/strong>&#8216;s Santana Row on Mar 18 the Persian New Year (Nowruz) celebrates the arrival of spring in Park Valencia.
