Some call it Easter Weekend but in San Francisco it’s an\u00a0unpredictably wacky weekend. For\u00a0law enforcement there will be no rest.\u00a0Here’s why:<\/p>\n

1. 4-20 @ Hippie Hill<\/strong>.\u00a0Golden Gate Park “Hippie Hill” happens every year on April\u00a020. Recreational marijuana users, stoners and hippies take to “Hippie Hill” to celebrate in the park and in Haight-Ashbury. Last year there was a cloud of smoke, a wall of people\u00a0and tons of trash, remnants of munchies attacks.<\/p>\n

2. \u00a0The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’s Easter Weekend<\/strong> begins on April 19 with Holy Saturday Castro Procession.\u00a0Experience Sistory through a\u00a0guided meditation art walk with a special opening ritual from Founding Sisters. On Easter the sisters head for Golden Gate Park for a \u00a0spirited event in which the cross-dressing Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence put on a show. \u00a0Burlesque\u00a0meets\u00a0Easter Bonnet and Hunky Jesus, tied up in a bow with the crowning of Foxy Mary. It’s strange enough, but then they’ve added this\u00a0theme:\u00a0The Emerald Jubilee, A Trip To Oz.\u00a0thesisters.org<\/p>\n

3. Union Street Easter Parade<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 (Apr.20) where your bonnet may have more than frills upon it. The annual street celebration is lively– never boring.<\/p>\n

4. \u00a0Cherry Blossom Festival and Parade<\/strong><\/a> (Apr. 19-20) in Japantown includes Asian traditions and up to 200,000 in attendance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
