California didn&#8217;t become easily accessible until &#8220;golden spikes&#8221; were driven, completing the train tracks to the West Coast. \u00a0Hundreds of\u00a0thousands of people began arriving in\u00a0the\u00a0Golden State when trains became\u00a0available.<\/p>\n<p>Train Day celebrations take place in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Fresno, Dunsmuir and many cities. The public is invited to enjoy the festivities and activities\u00a0taking place over several weeks.
