Safe and sane fireworks are approved by the state and sold at fireworks stands. They includes hundreds of varieties of these basic items: Party Poppers, Spinners & Wheels, Fountains, Snap Caps, Hand-held Candles, Candles & Cones, Whistlers, and Novelties such as snakes, worms and flashers.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In cities that allow\u00a0them some residents wish they didn’t, and in cities\u00a0where they are illegal, others wish they could buy\u00a0these types of fireworks. California’s close proximity to and shared\u00a0borders with Mexico\u00a0prevents cities from completely stopping the illegal\u00a0flow of fireworks into California, according to \u00a0police and fire departments. All they can really do during the 4th of July holiday is\u00a0respond to\u00a0complaints, but even then they must catch the culprits in the act of lighting\u00a0them up. It’s usually illegal fireworks not on the safe & sane list such as bottle rockets that catch buildings on fire.<\/p>\n This June the City of Anaheim voters will go to the polls to decide the fate of Measure E which would allow for the sell and purchase of\u00a0safe and sane fireworks in the city known for its nightly fireworks displays in the skies above Disneyland. Those particular fireworks use a proprietary technology<\/a> that sets them off electronically to reduce pollutants.
