Apricot pie eating contests, Apricot Queen, apricot ice cream, and apricots by the dozen are a few things to anticipate before the big Apricot Parade marches through the city, complete with apricot-themed floats and an apricot-clad mascot. Though some argue that Patterson&#8217;s Apricot Fiesta is window dressing for an industry taken over by Turkey (which ships\u00a0dried apricots\u00a0that sell for\u00a0half or one-third the price,) that&#8217;s not to say we shouldn&#8217;t support local farmers.
