It is on the list of National Register of Historic Places. Following the earthquake this civic building had been closed until rehabilitation began in June of 2011. Reconstruction proceeded under FEMA guidelines including the re-installation of original masonry, which was cleaned and repaired before reapplication to the revitalized structure.
