The old-fashioned gold rush town celebrates the 4th of July with patriotism, pride, and participation for all ages. California cities and towns host several hundred Independence Day parades that range from the shortest little parade in Aptos to the biggest west of the Mississippi in Huntington Beach. While parades bring out the kid in all of us, there are some that specifically bring out the kids. Most of the children&#8217;s parades invite youngsters to decorate their trikes and bikes in red, white &amp; blue, providing\u00a0great opportunities for youth to get a taste of the fun and maybe carry traditions as they grow up.
