The\u00a0Tevis Cup 100 Mile Trail Ride<\/a> on August 9, 2014 is\u00a0 ranked as one of the Top 10 Toughest Endurance Events, relentlessly demanding–and that’s putting it mildly! Participants have 24 hours to complete a 100 mile Sierra Nevada trail ride which includes riding with nothing more than moonlight to guide you through forests, taking a horse across a swinging bridge, and passing over the\u00a0famed Cougar Rock where you can’t let your\u00a0horse stop and think or they’ll get spooked. Horses have fallen off the cliffs and died, and riders have fallen and been hurt. Only half the participants ever make it to the finish within 24 hours in the mountain race that goes between Truckee and Auburn.
