Anchorage, an amphibious transport ship, and the U.S.S. Spruance, a guided missile destroyer. The\u00a0well-organized &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/navy-days.html\">Navy Days-LA<\/a>&#8221; celebration was sponsored by the Navy League.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Navy Days makes you proud you&#8217;re serving your country. We see just how much the military matters to people<\/strong>.&#8211;Kyle Kerley, \u00a0deckhand on the Spruance, from Texas<\/li>\n<li><strong>This finally gives me\u00a0a chance to show my\u00a0family and friends just what I do\u00a0in the Navy.<\/strong> &#8212;\u00a0Paul Mercado, an LA native, who works in damage control on the Anchorage<\/li>\n<li><strong>Navy Days\u00a0lets us\u00a0show the public what we do on a day-to-day basis. We&#8217;re very proud of this.<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212;\u00a0 Zachary Shrout, a Petty Officer Second Class<\/li>\n<li><strong>Navy Days are a tremendous opportunity for us to show the people of LA, the character of their sailors and the capabilities and quality of their ship\u00a0&#8212;<\/strong>\u00a0 Joel Stewart, Anchorage Commander<\/li>\n<li><strong>We really appreciate the community&#8217;s hospitality.<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212;\u00a0 Bobby Greene, a Chief Petty Officer from North Carolina<\/li>\n<li><strong>Our military\u00a0training prepares\u00a0us to assist\u00a0during emergencies such as natural disasters.<\/strong> &#8212;\u00a0Chantelle Imhoff, a Marine corporal from Nebraska, \u00a0along with fellow Marines Zach Snook from Georgia, and Nick Junge from Germany, both lance corporals<\/li>\n<li><strong>I get to share information about the space capsule on the ship that is part of a NASA Orion Program. Kids and adult love it!<\/strong>\u00a0&#8212;\u00a0Jon&#8217;ta Paten, a U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant,<\/li>\n<li><strong>It&#8217;s important not only to know our heritage but to appreciate what our military is doing today. This type of interaction is priceless.&#8211;\u00a0 <\/strong>Lt.
