Among the entertainment was an amateur sand sculpting contest and demos &amp; displays by master sculptors. Summer Beach Party sculpture with palm trees, tiki gods and a big sand pelican summed up the fun weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Believe it or not, California is only half-way through the sand castle contest season, even though the kids are heading back to school soon and won&#8217;t normally be making beach trips part of their daily routine!
