Although the National Park Service (NPS) boasts that less than one-third\u00a0of\u00a0America’s\u00a0401 national parks charge an entrance fee, California’s favorites are among those that DO charge fees. But on Monday, August 25, 2014 they are free\u00a0(other\u00a0fees such as reservations, camping, tours and\u00a0concessions are not included. )<\/p>\n

Celebrate the National Parks 98th birthday with free admission to some of the nation’s favorite national parks in California<\/a>: Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Sequoia-Kings Canyon, Lassen Volcanic NP, Whiskeytown\u00a0and\u00a0Cabrillo National Monument. California has 26 national parks receiving an estimated 36 million visitors annually.
