Californians have been on alert to start saving water and cities such as San Jose began doing so this summer<\/a>\u00a0this summer when the\u00a0spraygrounds weren’t turned on. Farmers have been working with less and have employed extreme\u00a0conservation methods after hearing the governor tell them about the shortage back in February 2014 at the World Ag Expo in Tulare<\/a>. \u00a0While an effort is underway to determine who’s using the water and how much\u00a0they are using, San Diego officials told the state that it\u00a0\u00a0needs to get its\u00a0act together and apply rigorous scientific\u00a0\u00a0methods for measuring consumption. Perhaps that’s why the City of San Diego declined supplying the state with\u00a0its\u00a0average consumption per resident data. \u00a0To see JUST how meaningless the data can be,\u00a0the City of Vernon reports\u00a0thousands of gallons of water per day per resident.
