Chris MacDonald<\/a>, Writer\/Photographer,\u00a0News Columnist<\/p>\nThe City of Bellflower has been named a Finalist for the 2014 Most Business-Friendly City Award by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC). The LAEDC recently named its finalists for the prestigious \u201cEddy Awards,\u201d\u00ae and has recognized The City of Bellflower’s commitment to its business community. \u201cWith a newly-established Economic Development Department, Bellflower has created incentive-based zoning and streamlined the entitlement process,” said Councilman Ray Dunton, a former mayor. “Bellflower has low business, utility, and property taxes, and numerous incentives programs, including forgivable sales tax loans, marketing and promotional agreements, and a restaurant expansion program.” Dunton, owner of Ray-A-Motive, said\u00a0he’s\u00a0excited that Bellflower may win the top award, to be announced in November.
