On Dec. 23, 2014, we headed for Knott&#8217;s Berry Farm and watched the temperature gauge rise\u00a0as we left the Orange County coast for our destination 14\u00a0miles inland.\u00a0It was\u00a085 degrees\u00a0in Buena Park as we stripped\u00a0off our jackets\u00a0to enjoy\u00a0the famous, shirt-sleeves weather\u00a0influencing\u00a0tourists to\u00a0move to our state.<\/p>\n<p><strong>First Christmas in Sunny California:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You&#8217;ll see the traditional Christmas snow scenes and decor replaced with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/christmas\/san-diego-surfing-santa.html\">Surfin&#8217; Santa<\/a>, sand and palm trees strewn with lights.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll be amazed when you see Californians truck in snow for kids to play with. Many children have never seen\u00a0it.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll\u00a0pinch\u00a0yourself in disbelief that the nice weather is real.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll be amused to see locals wearing woolen mittens, scarves, stocking caps, jackets, and fur-lined boots.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll discover that Californians have no idea what you&#8217;re talking about when you mention wind chill factor.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll learn that on Christmas Day many parents take their kids to the beach to play with toys and wear off energy.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll find that restaurants can be busier than department stores in days leading up to Christmas.
