If you haven’t done so lately it’s time to take stock of potential fire hazards around the home. Here’s a checklist of items to pay attention to<\/a>, used by Santa Barbara County Fire Department, which\u00a0performs free fire safety home inspections. In addition to the free home visits, they take part in an annual, fun Christmas Tree Burn<\/a> in Solvang. \u00a0There’s a purpose to all the burning, however, as the department’s largest fire safety demonstrations and community gathering on California\u2019s Central Coast (an estimated 2,000 people attend,)\u00a0shows how quickly dry pine needles can burn, sometimes leading to larger unintended fires. \u00a0In addition to the learning aspect of the event,\u00a0 Georgia’s Smokehouse BBQ, rockabilly\u00a0music from the\u00a0Cadillac Angels, popcorn and hot chocolate offer some smokin’\u00a0refreshments and entertainment.
