If you’re going to celebrate a plant, make sure it’s special.\u00a0In August 2014 thousands of people came to\u00a0San Marino, California to experience the gigantic corpse flower that smells like rotting flesh. There have been only about 20 corpse flower blooms in the United States, and one of them occurred at Huntington Library and Gardens. If given the option would you rather visit the plant that stinks like a decomposing human, or see the world’s largest violet colored flowering plant just five miles away in Sierra Madre? The good news is that the annual Sierra Madre Wistaria Festival returns on Sunday, March 15, 2015 and there are still tickets available for the shuttle ride that gets you to the location where you can see the Historic Guinness Book of World Records certified Wistaria Vine – the World’s Largest Blooming Plant.
