Amgen Tour of California Bicycle Competition<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0lasts 8 days in May, travels 700 miles near beaches, through mountains,\u00a0wine country and Los Angeles, and includes 4,000 volunteers as it passes through 13 host cities during\u00a0this staged event. The most challenging stage of the race on the next to the last day (Saturday, May 16, 2015,) may determine the winner. The 80 mile ride heads up Mt. Baldy in Southern California with a whopping 11,600 foot elevation gain! Starting\u00a0in Ontario racers face a challenging\u00a011-mile climb up\u00a0Mt. Baldy<\/a>. After an acute left, the racers endure\u00a0another mile of climbing up Glendora Ridge Road to their first of three monster KOMs (King of the Mountains).
