In 2015 we&#8217;ve received twice the rain as last year, but we still have a ways to go.&#8221; It&#8217;s a great time to view the red\u00a0Rococo tulips (bottom, left picture) and Daffodil Meadow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SIERRA FOOTHILLS<\/strong>: Daffodils are spectacular in Volcano, home to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/california-cities\/volcano.html\">Daffodil Hill<\/a>\u00a0(upper left).<\/li>\n<li><strong>SAN DIEGO COUNTY:<\/strong> \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/flowers-gardens\/carlsbad-flower-fields.html\">Carlsbad Flower Fields<\/a> are open through early May\u00a0for\u00a0ranunculus\u00a0viewing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>DESERT:<\/strong>\u00a0Joshua Tree National Park&#8217;s weekly\u00a0flower report says that Desert Parsley, Tidy-Tips, Forget-me-nots and Pale Primrose were spotted. California&#8217;s State Flower, the poppy, at\u00a0Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve dots the green hills this week. Rain has resulted in a tremendous number of poppy plants germinating across the reserve, but most only have buds forming at this time. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/lancaster-poppy-festival.html\">California Poppy Festival<\/a> arrives in mid-April.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CHANNEL ISLANDS:<\/strong> On Anacapa Island the giant coreopis (bottom, right) are in bloom through March.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SAN MATEO COUNTY:\u00a0Filoli Gardens in Woodside: &#8220;Last year was the driest year since we began keeping records.
