Guests are invited to\u00a0symbolically\u00a0burn or throw away the bad, the past, sickness, and hatred, welcoming the brightness of Spring, by taking part in the traditional Jump Over the Bonfire\u00a0exercise (kids do it, too!) While Jump Over events are held at California beaches where bonfires are permitted,\u00a0Berkeley may be the only city in the U.S. to close off a public street for the annual fire jumping festival.\u00a0\u00a0The family-friendly\u00a0street party\u00a0sponsored by the Persian Center is part of a global celebration, Chahar Shanbeh Suri.
