Your\u00a0best chance to see them is\u00a0late February through April\u00a0when\u00a0desert tortoises come out of hibernation to eat, mate, and\u00a0enjoy the temperate days before the scorching desert weather sets in for the summer. Desert tortoises hibernate or remain underground approx. 95% of the time which means it&#8217;s not a sure bet that you&#8217;ll spot one.
