This weekend\u00a0at Mariposa Butterfly Festival<\/a>, an annual celebration honoring the city’s namesake, there’s a Taste of Mariposa launch party on Friday night, followed by Saturday’s big butterfly extravaganza with a\u00a0parade and a really hot fire show produced by Manafire on Saturday night. Sunday is the mellow finale with free burrito breakfast and more entertainment such as butterfly releases. The mountain town\u00a0is one of the gateway’s to Yosemite National Park, approx. one hour distance by car.
