The race has included\u00a0special challenges this year\u00a0with rain and a course change due to snow.\u00a0Mountain resort Big Bear Lake at close to 7,000 feet elevation was\u00a0slated\u00a0to host\u00a0Stage 6 on Friday, May 15\u00a0but was cancelled due to snow. Instead the event was held in sunny Santa Clarita near Six Flags Magic Mountain. The “Queen Stage” with its mountaintop finish on Saturday, May 16, includes 10 switchbacks on a road so steep that many of the race vehicles cannot make it to the top. \u00a0The last stage\u00a0on Sunday, May 17, takes place on the streets of L.A. and ends at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
