The biggest festival and event of the year in this Fresno County destination\u00a0this weekend May 22-25, 2015\u00a0is the\u00a079th annual\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/coalinga-horned-toad-derby.html\">Horned Toad Derby<\/a>! The &#8220;horned toad&#8221; is neither a toad nor a frog&#8211;it&#8217;s really a horned lizard. The popular names come from the lizard&#8217;s round body and blunt snout, which make it resemble a toad or frog. Either way, you better bring the right critter to the race, part of the festival\u00a0events that include a carnival, Saturday parade, Kiss a Lamb contest, concerts and LuchaXtreme on the Budweiser Stage.
