From surfing to sailing, tidepool hikes to kayaking, what may seem like opportunities\u00a0available to a privileged few are open to tourists\u00a0too! Newport Beach calls their summer of fun in the sun Camp Newport (campnewport.com)\u00a0and they invite\u00a0adult visitors to sign\u00a0their\u00a0kids up for a beach experience like no other. There was a time when summer camps were only open to residents and when available to outsiders,\u00a0there was often a\u00a0waiting list. Some municipalities continue this practice but in Newport Beach\u00a0the city manages to offer more than 450 camps Memorial Day through Labor Day. Open to ages 3-14 years, the camps often last a week or two &#8212; just perfect for tourists renting one of those great beach cottages on the sand.
