When you touch it unwittingly (as most people do) its\u00a0oils cause your\u00a0skin\u00a0to swell up in welts that itch something fierce!\u00a0Poison oak\u00a0grows abundantly in the woods surrounding this historic gold rush town and the locals are just crazy enough to hold a contest with a show displaying arrangements made of this toxic stuff.<\/p>\n<p>But maybe Columbia is simply ahead of its time.
