We snapped photos yesterday at Huntington Beach\u00a0where\u00a0lifeguards\u00a0were busy with unusual crowds and recent\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/beaches\/great-white-shark-deaths.html\">shark sightings<\/a>. &#8220;In my 38 years, I&#8217;ve never seen as many juvenile great white sharks approaching the beaches as I did this year,&#8221; said Lt. Claude Panis of the Huntington Beach Marine Safety Division. \u00a0Changes in weather patterns have\u00a0impacted every part of the state:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Camarillo this week set a record of 108 degrees!\u00a0 Records for the date were also set in Long Beach,\u00a0Burbank, Santa Ana,\u00a0Riverside and El Cajon.<\/li>\n<li>Fort Bragg restaurants have been ordered to use plastic\u00a0eating utensils\u00a0and paper plates to save water in a Stage 3 alert.<\/li>\n<li>Pumpkin growers in the Central Valley and Central Coast have lost prized pumpkins due to the\u00a0heat.<\/li>\n<li>Scientists are studying ways to save rare sequoias, the biggest treees on the planet. Weather patterns are putting stress on the giants that are several thousand years old.<\/li>\n<li>Pistachios nut crops are up to 50% blanks (empty shells)\u00a0thanks to\u00a0drought, heat and abnormal West Coast weather.<\/li>\n<li>2015 fires have been some of California&#8217;s worst: \u00a0Valley Fire in Lake, Napa and Sonoma Counties ranks as 3rd\u00a0most damaging ever recorded; Butte\u00a0Fire in Calaveras and Amador Counties ranks 5th.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Southern California&#8217;s Beaches are having a heatwave.
