California&#8217;s third largest city has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/california-street-closures.html\">joined the ranks<\/a> of Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego to offer a car-free day where people can come out and play.\u00a0\u00a0City of San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, councilmembers and other elected officials offer opening remarks on Oct. 11, 2015 during the\u00a0event which goes from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., sanjoseca.gov<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Route: Six miles from Downtown\u2019s Saint James Park through Market Street \/ First Street, along the Calle Willow Business District, and then east along Keyes \/ Story Road to Emma Prusch Park.<\/li>\n<li>Strollers, scooters, skaters, walkers and bicyclists\u00a0are all welcome as attendees find entertaining activities along the route.<\/li>\n<li>Entertainment at hubs includes resource booths, hydration stations, bike repair, and food trucks from Moveable Feast.<\/li>\n<li>Free bike helmets,\u00a0\u00a0meet and greet with Danny the Dragon and small animals from the zoo,\u00a0a BMX trick show,\u00a0an Aztec dance group,\u00a0Super Bowl Champion Eric Wright and\u00a0Olympic gold medal\u00a0skater\u00a0Kristi Yamaguchi are among the featured guests and attractions at the event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today San Jose temporarily closed streets to motorized traffic in an event called \u00a0Viva CalleSJ.
