At\u00a0Oktoberfest bratwurst, sauerkraut and beer are a must. In Mexican culture\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seecalifornia.com\/festivals\/california-tamale-festivals.html\">tamales<\/a> have become a popular staple and theme for Christmas festivals; Greek festivals are known for their pastries and lamb dishes; and in Indian (from India) Diwali, vegetarian meals make ample use of curry spices, enjoyed with\u00a0Indian sweets.<\/p>\n<p>Diwali celebrations are in full swing in California,\u00a0where more\u00a0Indo-Americans reside than in any other state.\u00a0More educated than native-born populations\u00a0(70% are college graduates; 40% have\u00a0graduate or professional degrees,) and attaining\u00a0higher average household incomes than any other immigrant population, around two-thirds\u00a0of Indians live in Silicon Valley \/ Bay Area, with approx. one-third living in the greater\u00a0\u00a0Los Angeles\u00a0area.
